CrossFit WDM gets to host a small ACFT event next weekend. If you’ve ever wondered or wanted to know if you are “Army” Fit for the modern battle… I encourage you to come. If you are a veteran, active military, interested in joining the military, join us.

If you are like me, fitness stands for a lot. And to me, fitness is fun. But the Army isn’t doing this for fun, they are doing it to protect their Soldiers and better predict outcomes in battle.

Reading the foreword in the ACFT manual gives me increased perspective of the values the Army is upholding in the development of it’s new standard fitness test.

“The ACFT will strengthen our fitness culture, our Soldiers’ fitness for battle, and our Army’s readiness for war.”

I appreciate this, and the soldiers and veterans of our country so much. I dislike that we have to “step up our game” to be ready for the unknown and unknowable in the field of battle, fighting for their life and their brothers life, and the country’s rights… I’d rather it not have to be that way, but it is.

Your level of health and fitness in life will always play a factor in protecting yourself from illness and disease, injury or death. I pray for all the soldiers. Embrace what the leaders are trying to implement by raising the standards of our country to something we can be proud of. We need wisdom, and we need to be driven to identify ourselves with strong and healthy bodies and minds.
